Rehab at The Woodlands helps Holland get back on her feet

Madonna Holland was experiencing difficulty walking and generalized muscle weakness when she came to The Woodlands in Muncie, Indiana, on Oct. 10, 2017.

"I came in for rehab," Holland said, "and that's what I got."

Although when she started out in therapy, she needed extensive assistance to walk, get in and out of bed, get dressed and bathe, physical and occupational therapists helped her to regain strength, mobility, balance and independence.

She was able to walk, transfer, bathe and dress with supervision when she returned home on Nov. 8, and she was independent in her bed mobility and sitting balance. Her standing balance had also improved.
